EhhhDecent story， but it probably isn’t a good thing I couldn’t care less about Lucifer and Sid。 I was more invested in Mayhem and Ezra and they were barely in the book。 Also， not as dark as people were making it out to be。

This book shocked me because I became so invested in it so quickly。 With the time jumps from the previous year and the present， I was dying to find out what was going on and what went down the year before。 This was a pretty dark romance， and I am still on the fence about some of the characters。 That being said， I really want to see where this story goes and what the characters get into next。

i thought after reading a few of KV’s books， i knew what to expect。 i was wrong。 “these monstrous ties” is the first book in the Unsainted series， and wow was it a ride。 it was dark， but in a different way from Ecstasy or Unorthodox。 it was mysterious， action-packed， steamy， and just hands down scary at times。 the whole cult-ish theme is pretty knew to me， but it was so intriguing and made for a great story。sid。 i honestly really liked her character。 im not sure how others feel about her and i c i thought after reading a few of KV’s books， i knew what to expect。 i was wrong。 “these monstrous ties” is the first book in the Unsainted series， and wow was it a ride。 it was dark， but in a different way from Ecstasy or Unorthodox。 it was mysterious， action-packed， steamy， and just hands down scary at times。 the whole cult-ish theme is pretty knew to me， but it was so intriguing and made for a great story。sid。 i honestly really liked her character。 im not sure how others feel about her and i can see her being a somewhat disliked character， but i admired her strength。 she had been through so much shit in her life， but she persevered and stood up for herself， even to those who had power over her。 lucifer surprised me。 yes， he was dark and scary （and sexy） and mysterious。 but seeing him be soft is something i NEVER expected。 he brought out some of his vulnerability around sid and it was touching and sad to witness。 i know i’ll grow to love his character even more as the series goes on and as their relationship progresses。 i have hopes and predictions for the next few books， but know how unpredictable KV is， so i’m excited to see the outcomes。 i cant wait to see what comes next😈also。。。that death oath thing lucifer and sid made together on halloween？ how can i not think they are soulmates and are meant to be together？ fingers crossed！！！trigger warnings: attempted rape， suicide contemplation/planning， cult activity （involving self harm and blood drinking）， abuse， mention of childhood sexual assault from a guardian， murder， violence 。。。more

I finished it but。。。I don’t know what it was about this book， I’m guessing I just wasn’t that connected but it was such a choppy read。 I kept putting it down and picking it back up to read in such small quantities。 I even flicked through the last chapter to see if there was anything worth reading。 Spoiler alert， there wasn’t。

I have never written a book review before but I really wanted to for this book & series。 I read this book a couple of months ago and when I was on my way home from work it hit me how messed up these characters are。 I was thinking of the storyline and the situations the main character gets into and actually made me think WHAT THE F*** However， enjoyed it， would re-read 4/5

I just want to start of by saying that this story was well written and I like the characters but all the back and forth between Lilith and Lucifer was just too repetitive and drove me crazy。 I wanted meat and potatoes but all I got was Lucifer wanting Lilith and Lilith wanting Lucifer and neither one of them taking any action。 The story was good enough that I started reading the second book but it starting off with all that push and pull。。。

First thing， These Monstrous Ties has a few triggers。 There is a proceed with caution page at the beginning。 Read it before continuing on with the book。Now，down to business。 When I started this book I was expecting something along the lines of girl falls for secret society guy， Halloween is their prime time， they end up getting through some hot messes and end off with a HEA。I wasn’t expecting to be conflicted。 I hated。。。and loved all three main characters at different points。 Here is a quick run First thing， These Monstrous Ties has a few triggers。 There is a proceed with caution page at the beginning。 Read it before continuing on with the book。Now，down to business。 When I started this book I was expecting something along the lines of girl falls for secret society guy， Halloween is their prime time， they end up getting through some hot messes and end off with a HEA。I wasn’t expecting to be conflicted。 I hated。。。and loved all three main characters at different points。 Here is a quick rundown without spoilers。 One Halloween night，Sid is on a mission to finally take control of what is left of her life and make certain things final with it。 However her life changing task is interrupted and rerouted by。。。Lucifer。Lucifer knows that Sid is on her way to do something regretful， at least in his mind。 He takes her along with him to his crew’s Halloween ‘celebration’ aka Lover’s Death。 She follows along because she has nothing else to do besides meet her final destination。Sid hasn’t had the best life。 Her and her brother were separated and she bounced between foster homes。 With no clue as to where her brother could be。 Until that fateful night， when Jeremiah would save her from Lucifer。 Jeremiah would then take care of Sid and fuel her anger to get revenge against Lucifer。 However， in a turn of events， things are revealed and Sid just wants to get away from both。 The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger and something was revealed that had me like whoa。。。I’ll hug you Jeremiah。。。even though you’re toxic。 。。。more

4。5 stars！God， this story was dark， twisted， mysterious。。。 I loved it！ Even after finishing， I have SO many unanswered questions and feel a little uneasy still about these characters。 We still don’t know exactly who they are， what they do， and what tf is going on in Alexandria！ The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is the lack of steam！ Hopefully we’ll get more of that in the next 3 books。 Definitely continuing on with the series soon！

Holy five fucked up stars Batman！This book was so freaking insane man！ Like seriously so fucking insane。 And so crazy。 And seriously， seriously fucked up。 Like some of the shit that happened my mind just can't wrap around。 It's nuts。But it was soooooo good！ I am so glad I came across this book and now my girl Aly is buddying it with me！ Heck yes。Sid is one seriously messed up individual。 Some of it stems from her own choices。 But the majority of why she's so messed up comes from choices made by Holy five fucked up stars Batman！This book was so freaking insane man！ Like seriously so fucking insane。 And so crazy。 And seriously， seriously fucked up。 Like some of the shit that happened my mind just can't wrap around。 It's nuts。But it was soooooo good！ I am so glad I came across this book and now my girl Aly is buddying it with me！ Heck yes。Sid is one seriously messed up individual。 Some of it stems from her own choices。 But the majority of why she's so messed up comes from choices made by other people。 ANd you can't help but feel sorry for her。 And want revenge for her。 And for her to just say fuck it and kill everyone。 Watch the world burn at her feet。 Because she deserves it。 For the shit she's been put through from the world， her brother， Lucifer。 All of it。 She deserves everything。Throughout the story of Sid I couldn't help but fall more and more in love with her character。 She's so beautifully broken。 She is a really well written character。 I loved it so much！On to the next！ :D 。。。more

This book started off Ok。 It intrigued me。 It seemed to lose some of its shine around the halfway point and got slightly more interesting at the end。 I’m going to read the next book in the series due to some remarks that have been made in reviews， but for this book I’d give 3。5 stars。
